Unequal vaccine distribution:

▪︎High-income countries’ plans to administer boosters to fully vaccinated individuals have drawn criticism from several global health scientists, who highlight the increasing inequalities between wealth and access to vaccines.

▪︎Currently, the word has been divided into COVID-19 vaccines “haves” and “have-nots”, making a gap that may lead to the next phase of the pandemic.

▪︎Based on Washington Post report, 45% of all administered vaccine doses have gone to 16% of the world’s population in high-income countries.

▪︎A recent report from KFF suggests that at current vaccination rates, low-income countries won’t complete substantial levels of vaccination until at least 2023.
