COVID -19 has caused considerable psychological responses, particularly among frail populations. Pre-existing depression and anxiety conditions can exacerbate the impact of stressful events. However, it is proved that communication with other people can reduce the level of perceived psychological stress.
︎Vulnerable groups (especially people with pre-existing diseases) and their specific risk factors should be monitored during the pandemic.
︎Preventive interventions need to be taken in these susceptible people. Public health strategies aimed at preventing the psychological consequences of COVID-19 can improve the quality of life of these populations.
